After the recent fourth place finish in Star Series IX, it seems that Invictus Gaming players have decided to go through some internal modifications in order to improve the team's performance. As of today, ChuaN is now the main carry of iG, while Luo will be supporting.
Invictus Gaming was one of the 'victims' of the recent Chinese reshuffle in February/March 2014. Jiao 'banana' Wang and Chen 'Hao' Zhihao moved to the newly formed squad NewBee, leaving two open spots in the main roster. Wong Hock 'ChuaN' Chuan stepped in to replace Banana, and Yinqi 'Luo' Luo took the position of Hao.
Despite several encouraging results in Asian competitions (including the first place in Netolic Pro League #5 East), several iG members seemed to be dissatisfied with the squad's performance in the recent international playoffs of Star Series IX. Many fans blamed the situation on Luo, claiming that he is unable to meet the team's standards.
With the conclusion of Star Series, iG will attempt a slight role change to figure out if they can renew their strategies and strength. As of today, ChuaN will be the main carry (first position) of the squad, while Luo will be one of the two supports (positions four and five). Both players are familiar with their new positions as Luo used to play support in World Elite, while ChuaN used to play heroes with high farm priority in previous teams such as Kingsurf.
Nonetheless, the first demonstration of the new roles was not very successful, as they were defeated by ViCi Gaming in WVW Professional League. It remains to be seen whether the squad will adapt to the changes and return to the strong performances the fans expect from The International 2 Winner.
